Oyster, Wine & food Festival 2013 – Brightwater Commons


Gauteng’s largest Oyster Festival is back for yet another year at the Brightwater Commons taking place on 1-2 June 2013 from 11:00 -18:00, established as a firm favourite by many returning visitors over the years, Brightwater Commons is home to the festival.

The Oyster, Wine and Food Festival promises to bring over 40 000 oysters, 30 gourmet food exhibitors and over 38 wine estates comprising over 300 to tantalise the palette .

People travel from all over to attend  the festival , weather it be to indulge in the oysters,   taste wine at the Promotions court, lounge around in the Champagne Garden sipping on bubbly or catch the sporting action at the Beer Tent with a Guinness, there is indeed something for everyone .

“Last year we sold a record 38 000 oysters over the fourteen hour period and this year we hope to exceed that”, says Francois du Buisson, Marketing Manager at the Brightwater Commons.


The open- air promotions court is where all wines can be found. Wine glasses can be purchased for R 25 at any of the three entrances providing visitors with the opportunity for interesting tastings at the wine circles

Famished festival goers can look forward to fresh oysters, cooked meals and  dainty delicacies as this will be available in abundance. This year medium oysters will be sold for R12 each and the popular jumbo oysters for R20 at a dedicated station.

 Come and enjoy the mix of cheese platters, oysters and Methode Cap Classique over the weekend.
